Travel Website Design
The travel website, French Waterways, began life as an online captain’s log for a semi-retired couple who were travelling the canals and rivers of France. It was just a bit of fun, but the quality & quantity of content they were creating was, unintentionally, earning them a growing following and enviable SEO. What started as a hobby became an unexpected opportunity and the founders started to add some modest eCommerce, then some affiliate marketing with cruise companies which, eventually, led them to the decision that it was time to get serious. That’s when they called on Narrative.
Improved UX, SEO & UI
The diversity and quantity of content they had built-up required restructuring to make it more discoverable to their audience. We worked with Andy at SEO Thing to ensure we retained and built-upon their legacy SEO and devised a new structure with SEO landing pages to help their audience find what they needed faster. Narrative also designed rich mega menus to provide a better user experience.
The transformation was impressive. The new site is easier to use, ranks even better in search results than before and converts higher. None of this would have been possible without the strong foundation of quality content that French Waterways had built-up, or the talents of Andy from SEO Thing whose advice was invaluable. It was very much a collaboration efforts and we are proud to have played our part in this successful project.
